R. Mark Patterson

R. Mark Patterson is an experienced attorney with nearly 30 years of complex family law litigation experience. He has a strong background in family law, having worked at esteemed family law firms in San Diego. Throughout his career, Mr. Patterson has handled a wide range of family law cases, including high-profile and high-value estate cases.

Mr. Patterson is well-versed in all aspects of family law and has successfully represented clients in numerous trials. Some of these trials have extended over several weeks, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.

Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Patterson served in the United States Navy, where he worked on top-secret assignments involving submarine nuclear reactors. His military service instilled in him discipline, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, qualities that have greatly contributed to his success as an attorney.

Mr. Patterson earned his Juris Doctorate from Western State University and has furthered his involvement in the legal field by teaching a college class for paralegals in family law. He actively engages with the legal community by hosting and moderating Continuing Legal Education seminars and participating in speaking events. He has been selected as a Super Lawyer since 2021.

Additionally, Mr. Patterson has made significant contributions through pro bono work, particularly in domestic violence cases, on behalf of the Center for Community Solutions. He has also served as a minor's counsel by court appointment, representing the best interests of children involved in family law cases. Currently, Mr. Patterson serves as a Judge Pro Tem and mediator in the Family Law division of the San Diego Superior Court, further highlighting his expertise and standing within the legal community.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Patterson enjoys spending quality time with his family and his huskies, emphasizing his commitment to both his career and personal life.
