Biography

Mr. Medina was born in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Cathedral High School, he enlisted in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He was stationed in Baumholder, West Germany. After his Army stint, Mr. Medina attended and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California (USC). Fight On! Mr. Medina then joined the ranks of Los Angeles’ finest as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. He eventually attained the rank of sergeant before enrolling in law school. Mr. Medina earned his law degree at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law (UCLA).

Mr. Medina began his practice in Los Angeles handling various civil matters. He eventually began to focus on divorce and family law cases and divorce and family law soon became his specialty. Mr. Medina is a State Bar of California, Certified Family Law Specialist. Certification requires extensive education and experience in the field of family law, completion of a second specialized bar examination, high ethical standards, and a positive peer review by other attorneys and judges.

Mr. Medina is a volunteer mediator appointed by the Los Angeles Superior Court and serves in both the Central District and Northeast District (Pasadena).

Mr. Medina is a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where he has served for seven years.

Mr. Medina has been selected for inclusion on the prestigious Super Lawyers® list for the last eight consecutive years and his profile is included in the annual issue of Los Angeles Magazine.

Mr. Medina is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

He successfully represented a client in a matter that was decided by the California Court of Appeal and resulted in a published opinion (Guardianship of Ariana K. (2004) 120 Cal. App. 4th 690).

Mr. Medina is fluent in Spanish.
