Biography


Attorney Roberts is a senior partner with Nuzzo & Roberts. His practice is focused in insurance defense, professional liability, contractor liability and product liability. He has tried numerous cases and argued over 15 appeals. He is A-V rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been listed in Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers for the past six years.

Attorney Roberts is currently president of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association. He is also past-president of the New Haven County Bar Association, has been on its Executive Committee since 2001, and has chaired its Membership and Public Service Committees. He sits on the Civil Justice Commission with all presiding judges of Connecticut's State Courts. He is on the Executive Board of the New Haven Bar Community Foundation and is a fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. He was ABA Young Lawyers Division District Representative and President of the New Haven Young Lawyers. He was awarded Outstanding Big Brother of the Year for enacting a project encouraging attorney volunteers in the Big Brother/Big Sister program.

Attorney Roberts received his J.D. in 1983 from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, and his B.A. in 1979 from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Attorney Roberts was admitted in Connecticut and New York in 1984, the District Court for the District of Connecticut in 1985, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 2006, and the Supreme Court of the United States in 2008.

Attorney Roberts was a Lecturer in Legal Studies at Quinnipiac College, and speaks frequently on topics including "Advanced Personal Injury," "Personal Injury Settlements," "Premises Liability: The Defense Perspective," "Most Common Mistakes Made Handling Claims," "Nuts and Bolts of Tort Law," "Third Party Practice" and "Preparing and Trying the Automobile Accident Case." Mr. Roberts presides over private arbitrations and mediations and is a court-appointed arbitrator.
