Biography

Richard C. Watters was born and raised in Fresno, California. He was admitted to the California State Bar and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California in 1974. He is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Mr. Watters received his B.S. Degree, cum laude, and M.B.A. Degree from California Sate University, Fresno and his J.D. Degree from the University of Santa Clara.

Mr. Watters is a member of the Fresno County and American Bar Associations, The State Bar of California, American Trial Lawyers Association, American Board of Trial Advocates (Advocate; President, San Joaquin Valley Chapter, 1994-1996), National Board of Trial Advocacy (Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate), International Society of Barristers (Fellow), Litigation Counsel of America (Fellow), American College of Trial Lawyers, International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

He has completed over 80 civil jury trials to verdict in state and federal court, including 14 significant jury verdicts since 2000.

Mr. Watters served as a Sergeant in the California Air National Guard from 1966-1972. He is a Speaker and Panelist in the field of Plaintiff Civil Litigation. Mr. Watters is active in community activities and at St. John’s Cathedral.
