Richard Sanders is a partner at Johnson Kraeuter & Sanders LLC, where he focuses his practice on family law and domestic relations. Licensed in Georgia since 2008, Richard brings significant expertise as a litigator, successfully handling cases through trial and appeal, and advocating in person before both the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals. He is a registered mediator and arbitrator, regularly volunteering with the Mediation Center in Savannah. Richard’s reputation extends beyond the courtroom—he co-authored Divorce in Georgia and is a frequent lecturer on legal topics, including family law, evidence, and ethics, for attorneys, judges, and community organizations.

A respected leader, Richard serves on executive committees for both the Savannah Bar Association and the Council of Municipal Court Judges, and is the most senior First District Representative. His work has earned him recognition as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2016 and a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in Georgia. He also holds an AV Preeminent peer rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Additionally, Richard has dedicated more than a decade to coaching the Mock Trial Team at Savannah Arts Academy, reflecting his passion for community service and legal mentorship.
