Richard Thomas Ernsberger

Richard Ernsberger represents clients in both state and federal courts across a broad range of civil matters. His litigation experience includes cases involving federal False Claims Act issues, employment discrimination, intellectual property disputes (copyright and patent), real estate conflicts, and consumer protection claims. In addition to courtroom advocacy, Richard advises clients on transactional and regulatory needs, including trademark and copyright registrations, negotiating copyright license agreements, and serving as general counsel for a limited partnership. He began his legal career clerking for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, an experience that sharpened his research, writing, and analytical skills. More recently, Richard assisted the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance by reviewing disaster loan applications for individuals and small businesses. He also remains committed to public service, providing pro bono representation to people sued by student loan collection agencies. Richard is a registered mediator with the federal court in Pittsburgh and regularly teaches continuing legal education programs on ethics, insurance, and data privacy for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the National Business Institute.
