Biography

Ricky Shah earned his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2019, graduating cum laude and receiving the prestigious Archie A. Gorfinkel Award for excellence in criminal law. During law school, he demonstrated exceptional advocacy skills, earning 1st Place Honors in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition and serving on the nationally recognized Moot Court Team. Ricky began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, presented over 50 grand jury indictments, and achieved convictions in every trial he handled.

Recognizing his passion for criminal law, Ricky founded the Criminal Defense Office of Ricky Shah to provide high-quality, affordable legal defense. His firm operates virtually, leveraging modern legal technology to reduce costs while maintaining in-person support during court appearances. Transparency and client communication are central to Ricky’s practice, and he is one of the few attorneys who provides clients with regular case updates.
