Biography

Riley Landy practices in the areas of civil rights defense, general liability, labor and employment and medical malpractice defense. Her practice focuses on defending civil right claims pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against law enforcement; medical malpractice claims under Chapter 766, Florida Statutes, against hospitals, medical practices and physicians; employment law claims brought under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA and FMLA, Florida Civil Rights Act, Florida’s Public Whistleblower Act; and other general and personal liability matters.

Riley brings a wealth of experience to the Andrews, Crabtree, Knox & Longfellow, LLP. She has handled cases throughout the state of Florida in state and federal courts. She has experience appearing before administrative judges and boards throughout Florida. She is admitted to practice law in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Riley was recently named a Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2021 by Thomson Reuters.

Prior to joining the firm, she was Chief Legal Counsel and Ethics Officer for the Florida Department of Health and Assistant General Counsel at the Florida Department of Education. She gained significant experience representing and advising corporations, employers and individuals on a variety of legal issues while for prestigious regional and national insurance defense firms.

Riley graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Italian from Florida State University. She was in the top 5% of her graduating class at Stetson University College of Law. During law school, Riley graded on to Stetson Law Review, and was a student editor for the Journal for International Wildlife Law and Policy. She spent her last year of law school as a visiting student at the Florida State University College of Law.

Riley is married with three children. She spends her free time working out and enjoying the outdoors in North Florida with her family. She is also an active member of her local church where she is often seen volunteering. Riley is a member of the Tallahassee Bar Association (TBA), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), Labor and Employment Law Section; and Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA).
