Biography

Rob joined the Firm in 1993. The focus of his practice is in the areas of commercial banking, business and real estate. For over 40 years, he has represented numerous national and state-chartered banks, as well as borrowers in all aspects of commercial transactions, including real estate, construction and asset-based lending, as well as transactions between lenders, including the negotiation of participation agreements, inter-creditor agreements, subordination agreements and the like. Rob also represents both banks and borrowers in a variety of public finance transactions and provides counsel in work-out matters, often drafting and negotiating forbearance agreements, reservation of rights letters and related documents. In addition, Rob counsels many corporate and partnership clients on all aspects of business law, including formation, operations, contract preparation and mergers and acquisitions.

For over two decades, Rob has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® in the Banking and Finance and Commercial Finance Law categories. In the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, Rob was voted the 2026 “Lawyer of the Year” in Commercial Finance Law in Providence. He is currently, and has for over three decades, achieved AV Preeminent® designation by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards.

Rob is a former member of the Board of Governors, and past Commodore, of The Barrington Yacht Club, and was a past Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of Narragansett Bay Yachting Association.
