Biography

Robert Loren Newsom is a Partner in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale West office. He is a member of the firm’s Construction Group and focuses his practice on construction, products liability, real estate, and insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Newsom received his Juris Doctor from The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law in Memphis, TN. During law school, Mr. Newsom accepted an externship with the University of Memphis Athletic Department’s Office of Athletic Compliance. The following semester, Mr. Newsom externed for the Honorable Paulette J. Delk of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Prior to law school, Mr. Newsom attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MI, where he earned a Bachelor of Paralegal Studies. There, he was a scholarship student-athlete and varsity letter winner for the University’s track and field and cross-country teams. Mr. Newsom was also an active member of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society and Sigma Alpha Lamda Honor Society.

Throughout his undergraduate and law school studies, Mr. Newsom served as a Legal Clerk at a law firm in his hometown of Dyersburg, TN which represents multiple municipalities, industrial development boards, and various business organizations.
