Hon. Robert L. Polifroni

ROBERT L. POLIFRONI, P.J. Cv. (Ret.) conducts his ADR/CDR PRACTICE at HARDIN, KUNDLA, MCKEON & POLETTO in its Springfield, NJ office. He brings insight, experience, and a professional, but practical, approach to settling disputes. Judge Polifroni recently retired after 15 years of distinguished service in the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, including 10 years as the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division in Bergen County. He presided over a variety of bench and jury trials to verdict, ranging from commercial and insurance disputes to personal injury and wrongful death actions, in areas ranging from automobile and premises liability, to professional negligence (medical, attorney, broker); construction, condemnation, and mass tort (Fen-Phen). As the Presiding Judge of a large vicinage, he spent countless hours managing and resolving disputes of all kinds.

Prior to the bench, Judge Polifroni enjoyed a long career in civil litigation, and was designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney from 1986 – 2006. He also served as a Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator. After leaving private practice in 2005, he served as Special Deputy Commissioner to the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2006.
