Robert Neil Gellatly, Jr.

Robert Gellatly joined the Luvera Law Firm in 2000 to devote his practice entirely to representing injured people. He has been a trial lawyer for over 25 years, handling a wide variety of personal injury and medical malpractice cases in state and federal courts. Before joining the firm, he was a partner at Helsell Fetterman LLP, where he defended lawsuits against hospitals, doctors, and product manufacturers.

Gellatly has been consistently awarded a rating by his peers of “AV Preeminent,” the highest possible rating for ethical standards and legal ability, in the Martindale-Hubbell Directory of Attorneys ©.

He is listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” © (a national directory of attorneys), and “The Best Lawyers in Washington State” (Seattle Business Magazine). He has also been selected as a “Super Lawyer” © for the past several years by fellow lawyers in annual state-wide surveys conducted by Washington Law and Politics asking them to vote for the best lawyers they have personally observed in action.

He has been chosen by his peers as Best Lawyers® 2015 Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year in Seattle. He also received the 2009 “Trial Lawyer of the Year” award by the Washington State Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a select group of plaintiff and defense lawyers.

Gellatly has been elected a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Attorneys Information Exchange Group, American Association for Justice, Washington State Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, and King County Bar Association. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound in 1982, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law in 1985.

Born in Wenatchee, Washington, Gellatly and his wife live in the Seattle area and have four sons.
