Biography

Ray Jones focuses in the arena of governmental liability cases with concentration in all manner of state and federal constitutional and tort claims ranging from employment discrimination and termination matters to false arrest and the use of excessive force by police and jail personnel. Ray brings additional insight into police and jail liability cases having served as a probation officer and use of force instructor in the State of Louisiana.

He currently serves as defense counsel for the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group, which provides legal services to over 500 municipalities and their public trusts within the State of Oklahoma. Additionally, Ray serves as plaintiff counsel in suits against other political subdivisions of the state.

Ray has more than fifteen years of experience litigating and trying cases in the state and federal courts of Oklahoma. In the same time frame, Ray has developed an active appellate practice having managed more than 25 appeals.

In 2004, Ray graduated cum laude from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1994. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar and practices in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District, Eastern District and Western District of Oklahoma, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Ray is affiliated with a number of professional organizations to include: the Defense Research Institute; the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys; the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel; the American Bar Association; and the Oklahoma Bar Association.
