Biography

Robert Scott Hannan has dedicated his career to Family Law, bringing over 30 years of experience to clients across Florida. Formerly a State and County Child Support/Alimony Prosecutor, he has practiced in Fort Lauderdale and, since 2017, has primarily served Melbourne and surrounding communities. His work encompasses a wide range of family law issues, including divorce, custody disputes, alimony, child support, relocation, domestic violence, and other complex matters requiring expertise from forensic accountants, business valuation professionals, and child psychologists.

Mr. Hannan’s business education from Florida State University and tax law training from Ohio Northern University provide him with a unique perspective on financial matters in family law cases. As a commercially certified pilot with 35 years of experience, he practices statewide, extending his services to clients across Florida.

A member of the Family Law sections of the Florida and American Bar Associations, Mr. Hannan previously served on the Family Law Legislative Committee of the Florida Trial Lawyers Association. Known for his compassionate approach, he takes the time to understand each client’s unique concerns and offers tailored legal strategies.     Robert is great to work with. He keeps the client's objectives in mind and prefers to settle the case without inflating the cost of litigation. However, if litigation is necessary, he is professional, courteous and prepared.
