Open for Business
Robert Shawn Casey: Attorney with Law Offices of Shawn H. Smith

Biography

I earned my undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University and my law degree from DePaul College of Law. After graduation, I moved to Colorado to work as a public defender, where I got real courtroom experience fast and learned how to advocate for people when the stakes are high. Not long into that work, I realized I wanted a broader practice and the ability to choose a more varied mix of cases, so I transitioned into private practice. I joined the Stout Law Firm, where I built a strong foundation in criminal defense while also beginning to handle family law matters. Working in both areas sharpened my skills and made me a more effective, well-rounded attorney. My family law practice has continued to grow over the years, and in 2022 I joined the Law Offices of Shawn H. Smith. Today, I focus primarily on family law cases, while still handling select criminal matters and restraining order cases when needed.
