Biography

Rob is a civil litigation attorney with 25 years of experience, focusing primarily on professional and general liability defense of school districts, municipalities, corporations and individuals. Rob has gained extensive experience in the litigation and trial of a broad spectrum of cases throughout New York, Connecticut and Florida. He has also managed, and litigated Employment Discrimination cases based on race, religion, gender, age and disabilities protected under the Federal and State laws.

Rob has successfully resolved more than 100 cases at the trial stage and achieved numerous favorable verdicts for his clients. This is led to a clear understanding of how to best present cases to obtain favorable outcome, often with an early cost-efficient early resolution.

Mr. Cosentino graduated summa cum laude and ranked number three in his class at St. John’s University. He remained in Queens for his education, a short drive from his home in Bronx where his family settled after emigrating from Calabria, Italy. At St. John’s University he went on to earn a dual degree on a J.D./M.A. Scholarship. He earned a Master of Arts in Government and Politics from the St. John’s University Graduate School of the Arts & Sciences where he concentrated in Comparative Government & International Relations. In law school, he was awarded a Columbian Lawyers Association Scholarship, as well as the Scalia Law Scholarship. He served as President of The Justinian Law Society and received the Justinian Law Society Leadership Award.

While in law school, he also had the opportunity to study Comparative Law at the Universita’ Degli Studi Di Firenze and worked at a firm in Milan. He was selected to participate as a member of an academic group of professors and Justices from Milan who were studying the possibility of adopting United States Criminal Procedure. He is proficient in Italian and Calabrese Dialect.

Mr. Cosentino serves as a member of the Committee on Character and Fitness for the New York State Appellate Division, First Department. He is admitted to practice before the New York Bar, the Connecticut Bar, the Florida Bar, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Southern and Eastern United States District Courts. He belongs to several Italian organizations. Presently, he coaches youth tackle football and participates in various community service programs.
