Biography

Robin spends her days working with employers as a collaborative business partner to assist them in workers compensation matters. She is passionate about educating her clients on the workers compensation system by finding ways to improve their internal procedures so that they will be better prepared to assist their employees in compensable claims while zealously defending her clients against claims deemed to be unfairly or inappropriately pursued.

Robin has a strategic advantage in representing employers because she started her career working in a firm which represented Plaintiffs. That foundation allows her to anticipate an employee’s demands so that her clients are better prepared to stave off those demands. She knows that by understanding a client’s business model and through effective communication, she can work with her clients to find efficient and cost-effective solutions to close claims. As a result, Robin has handled hundreds of workers compensation cases involving questions of compensability, medical causation, disability, occupational disease and fraud.

Robin is a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office. She currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee and as the Vice-Chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. She is also a member of the NC Bar Association, the NC Association of Defense Attorneys and the Defense Research Institute.

In 2013, Robin organized a firm Women’s Initiative to provide the women of CSH with a greater number of paths to leadership, vehicles to allow them more flexibility and helpful technology in their practices and to encourage a better flow of information between all levels of their attorneys.

Robin was selected to receive the TBJ Women in Business Award in 2015. In 2018, Robin was named as one of North Carolina’s Leaders in the Law. She was also selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers Business Edition 2016 Women in the Law. Also, she has been designated one of The Best Lawyers in America in the field of WC Law-Employers each year since 2009 and maintains an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell.
