Specialties, Experience:

Rodrigo "Rod" Suarez is an associate in the firm's Riverside office. Rod's main focus is on personal injury and premises liability cases. Mr. Suarez has handled hundreds of cases involving personal injury, premises liability and products liability. He evaluates the merits of cases, prepares the case strategy, propounds and responds to discovery, takes depositions, and is experienced in motion practice and trial. Mr. Suarez has trial experience both on the plaintiff's side and defense side of civil litigation. His experience as a litigator on both sides of the issues allows him to better evaluate cases for mediation and early settlement.

One Highlight:

Mr. Suarez treasures his father advice that "99% of the time things make sense, if you hear a story and it doesn't make sense, then you are not getting all the facts." On this advice, Mr. Suarez seeks the truth in all the cases he handles to obtain justice for his clients.

Most Memorable Legal Moment:

An owner of a small supermarket without insurance faced a lawsuit from a prior disgruntled employee who allegedly slip and fell at the owner's premises. The Plaintiff had demanded an unreasonable amount of money to settle her case. The small business owner had informed Mr. Suarez, that the supermarket could not afford a judgment against it. And if the case was lost, the supermarket would have to be closed putting more than fifty people out of work around Christmas time. Mr. Suarez faced a highly contested discovery process against a locally known and very experienced trial lawyer. After a weeklong trial, the court unanimously ruled in favor of the small business owner, who kept his business open and his people employed.

Away from the Law:

Mr. Suarez is married and has one daughter, Isabel. Rod is a former IPSC/USPA amateur competitor and served as a safety instructor; additionally, Mr. Suarez enjoys to travel, photography and reading.
