Romy Elswerky

Since graduating from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2014, Romy Elswerky has built a practice centered on helping people through difficult transitions. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 2011 and has been practicing law ever since. Romy’s work has earned peer recognition, including being selected as a Rising Star from 2020–2026. He started his career as a criminal defense attorney in Lafayette, Indiana, a role that gave him strong courtroom experience and taught him how to advocate under pressure. In 2016, Romy shifted his focus to family law, representing clients in Hamilton County and later in Shelby County in matters involving divorce, paternity, custody, child support, and related disputes. Romy chose family law because he has seen how divorce can affect children in lasting ways and how emotionally and financially demanding these cases can be for parents. He finds the work rewarding because it allows him to protect what matters most to clients, while also helping them plan for the future. Romy is originally from northeast Indiana and was raised mostly in Fort Wayne, with time spent in Decatur and Ossian. He has lived in Bloomington, Indianapolis, Speedway, and Lafayette, and now resides in Hamilton County. When he’s not working, Romy enjoys sports, IU basketball, and visiting with family.
