Biography

Ron joined the practice of Farr, Kaufman in 1994 after having graduated from Gonzaga University’s law school in 2 ½ years and in the top 10% of Utah State Bar examinees in the February 1994 exam. Prior to Ron’s years of practice, he had many accomplishments. Ron graduated from the Police Academy, Valedictorian, and with a bachelor’s degree in Police Science from Weber State University.

Ron remained on the police force for over 3 years and moved on to become a Special Investigator and Team Manager for the Department of Child Support Services for 17 years. During his time as a Special Investigator and manager, Ron spoke at National Child Support Conferences and trained other states in child support collection procedure. The last few years with the agency, Ron spent writing child support policy for the State of Utah.

At 41, Ron entered law school at Gonzaga University where he obtained his law degree in 2 ½ short years and has been practicing since being sworn into the State and Federal Bar in 1994. Ron has previously held the position of the Weber County Bar President in 1995 and is still actively involved with various continuing education. Ron has recently begun a practice for conducting mediation as well for civil and domestic matters.

Ron’s unique education and history give him the confidence and knowledge to aggressively and tactfully approach and litigate personal injury, criminal, family, and domestic cases.

In 2003, Ron was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. The doctors gave him approximately 2 years to live. It has been over a decade, and Ron is still in fighting form both in the courtroom and out. As a cancer survivor, avid biker, accomplished Rock ‘n’ Roll drummer and musician, and established law attorney, there is no QUIT in Ron’s nature. This same can be expected in your representation.

Please see Ron’s Personal Statement for further and more detailed information regarding Ron’s history and background. In addition to all of the above, Ron has found the time and the energy to become a published author. He has written and published two books in the Christian genre. The books can be found here: “The Scarf, or the Power of God to… and God and the Bible… it Ain’t That Hard!” or by checking out “Ron K. Nichols Author” on the internet. Both available through Amazon or Barnes and Noble. The books are interesting and informative and have received good reviews. So give them a try.
