Biography

Ronald W. Chapman Sr. is a health care defense attorney with 38 years of legal experience and 36 years representing health professionals in Florida and Michigan. He founded Chapman Law Group in Troy, Michigan, and focuses on defending clinicians, providers, facilities, correctional health contractors and insurers in matters including medical malpractice, professional licensing, correctional health law, health care fraud and false claims, Qui Tam, peer review, credentialing, administrative law and health-care-related criminal defense. He also advises on compliance—Anti‑Kickback and Stark, DEA, Medicare and Medicaid claims, compliance program formation and Medicare audits. Ronald holds a JD from Wayne State University and an LL.M. in Health Care Law from Loyola University Chicago. A past vice chair of the Michigan State Bar medical-legal subcommittee, he is AV® Peer Review rated (since 2008), has been named a Super Lawyer in Michigan and Florida, was honored as a DBusiness Top Lawyer of the Year (2010, 2020) and listed among Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Leaders in the Law.” A U.S. Air Force veteran and fifth-degree black belt, Ronald combines disciplined preparation with deep health-law knowledge.
