As an attorney licensed across multiple states (Washington, Oregon, Texas, Louisiana), Roy Lambert brings diverse legal expertise, honed leadership abilities, and exceptional communication skills to our firm. He specializes in navigating clients through residential and commercial first-party insurance coverage disputes. Roy's legal experience encompasses a broad spectrum, including insurance coverage litigation, employment law, complex subrogation matters, premises liability, and personal injury defense.
Roy's professional background includes preparing for and participating in hearings, depositions, mediations, and appellate proceedings. His proficiency extends to conducting in-depth legal research and drafting various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and opinions. Roy excels in conducting settlement negotiations, providing risk management recommendations on claim files, and proactive strategies to ensure metric-based, client-focused representation.
Before joining WSHB, Roy enjoyed tenure at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Administrative Law Judges (OALJ). While there, he developed a strong comprehension of employment- and labor-related statutes and regulations. He gained experience conducting thorough legal research, drafting orders, and providing counsel on various cases. His training and experience included the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extensions; the Black Lung Benefits Act; whistleblower complaints involving corporate fraud and violations of transportation, environmental, and food safety statutes; alien labor certification; wage disputes; OSHA formal rulemaking proceedings; and civil fraud in federal programs.
Roy earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans, graduating magna cum laude . While in law school, he served as Chief of Staff of the Moot Court Executive Board and a Loyola Maritime Law Journal member. He earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University New Orleans, receiving the Outstanding Criminal Justice Undergraduate Award and graduating first in his class.
In addition to his legal prowess and experience, Roy enjoys a background in law enforcement, which spanned 15 years. His tenure included serving as a deputy sheriff, detective, and sergeant. These positions helped refine his leadership and negotiation skills, developing his communication and strategic decision-making proficiency. This unique blend of experience has enriched his legal practice and provided him a distinctive perspective and approach to helping firm clients.
