Biography

Ruth S. Kremen is an expert family law attorney with a broad and distinguished background that includes public service as well as law. Her commitment to family issues has led her to volunteer in various capacities in the fields of family law, child care and education. Ms. Kremen received her B.A. from Amherst College in 1976, returning to Los Angeles to be a Coro Foundation Fellow in Public Affairs, culminating in a M.A. in Urban Studies from Occidental College. She graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1983. From 1983 to 1984 she was a law clerk for Honorable William B. Bryant of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Following her clerkship, she was litigation counsel at the Boston firm Nutter, McClennan and Fish. Moving to California in 1985, She practiced general civil litigation including business, intellectual property, real property and family law, with the firm McGlashan & Sarrail in San Mateo. She moved to Los Angeles in 1991, limiting her practice to family law. She currently serves as a family law settlement officer and a Temporary Judge with the Los Angeles Superior Court. She has served as board member and President of the Child Care Resource Center of Los Angeles, a volunteer with the Harriet Buhai Center for family law and currently volunteers with Minds Matter Los Angeles, preparing high school students from underserved communities for entry to a four year college.
