Biography

Ryan J. Dougherty’s practice focuses on civil litigation, including business disputes, real estate disputes, and general civil disputes. Ryan has experience representing multi-billion-dollar financial institutions in complex business litigation relating to a variety of legal issues, including but not limited to, breach of contract, fraud, negligence, land disputes, misappropriation of trade secret information, unfair competition, discrimination, and construction defects. Ryan also has experience representing hospitality companies in land disputes, employment law, and franchising. Ryan is an experienced attorney in all phases of litigation and has represented clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration.

Ryan brings a unique perspective to the Ferguson Schindler Law Firm, P.C. because of his education and strong business background. Ryan has a firm understanding of business concepts and strategies acquired through earning his Finance Degree at Creighton University. He refined and developed that understanding by obtaining a dual J.D. / M.B.A. degree from the University of South Dakota. Ryan combines his business insight and legal knowledge and instills it into his practice allowing him to easily understand client desires and objectives while effectively and efficiently achieving them.

Prior to joining the Ferguson Schindler Law Firm, P.C., Ryan practiced in the Denver area. After five years of practice on the front range, he, his wife, and their three children, moved to the Roaring Fork Valley to enjoy the mountain lifestyle. Ryan thoroughly enjoys the outdoors spending the majority of his free time with his family golfing, fishing, boating, and skiing.
