Ryan is a director and the current President of the Vancouver Humane Society, and is a former director and board chair of the Dugout Drop-In Centre Society, a registered charity dedicated to providing a “community living room” to those in Vancouver’s Downtown East side neighbourhood.

Ryan is the legislative liaison and member of the founding executive of the British Columbia Bar Association Mergers and Acquisitions subsection, and has previously served on the executive of British Columbia Bar Association’s Real Property and Animal Law subsections.
