Sage BlackOwl is a seasoned trial attorney with over a decade of experience representing individuals and families in some of life’s most complex and sensitive legal matters. Her practice focuses on family law, juvenile dependency, and criminal defense—with a commitment to compassionate advocacy and clear, strategic guidance.After serving as a Staff Attorney at the Judicial Council of California from December 2023 to April 2025—supporting judges, attorneys, and stakeholders across the state in improving outcomes for children and families—Sage returned to private practice to continue providing direct representation and courtroom advocacy. Sage draws on her unique background in public policy, litigation, and legal education to serve clients with both integrity and insight.Throughout her career, Sage has worked alongside prosecutors, public defenders, child welfare agencies, and community partners to advance justice, accountability, and healing. She has also developed and led youth-focused programs that integrate legal education, mentorship, and creative expression as tools for empowerment.Whether in court or the community, Sage believes that legal advocacy can be a powerful force for dignity, transformation, and long-term change.Sage focuses her law practice in the areas of Family Law (child custody, child support, divorce, legal separation, parentage actions, grandparent rights, adoptions, probate guardianships, and Domestic Violence Restraining Orders), Juvenile Law, and Criminal Defense (State and Federal misdemeanors and felonies, DUI, pre-charge investigations, post-conviction record expungement and certificates of rehabilitation, and petitions to seal and destroy arrest records).
