Biography

Salvatore “Sal” Simeone, Esq. is a partner at Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, LLC. Sal is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a matrimonial law attorney, a designation of legal expertise earned by only a small number of attorneys statewide. Throughout his distinguished career, Sal has dedicated his practice to assisting clients in all their divorce and family matters, with a special focus on high-conflict divorce cases, custody battles, custodial parent relocation, domestic violence, alimony, child support, and contested asset and complex business valuations, as well as the various facets of equitable distribution.

Sal Simeone was drawn to family law early on in his career while serving as a clerk for the honorable Judge Catherine Langlois in the Superior Court’s family division. He quickly realized that family law was the area of law where he could make the greatest difference in people’s lives. Decades later, his passion for family law and commitment to his clients remain unwavering. In every case he represents, Sal guides his clients with great care and skill through even the most difficult and intricate of divorce and family matters, prioritizing open and honest communication at every turn. As he describes, “I’m very sincere and very candid with my clients. I give my clients a true assessment of their case when they sit down in front of me. I think that my clients can feel the sincerity across the table.”

In the courtroom, Sal is a zealous advocate for his clients, fighting tenaciously to protect their rights. Drawing from his years of experience, he meticulously crafts smart legal strategies that position his clients for success. Sal will pursue out of court settlement options whenever it is in his client’s best interests. His reputation as a formidable litigator is an extremely helpful tool for securing a fast and favorable settlement for his clients when negotiating with adversarial counsel.

Honed over his years of experience in family law, Sal’s subspecialties include complex business valuations in divorce as well as child support and custody removal cases, where he has represented both mothers and fathers. He finds great satisfaction in making a positive impact in the lives of parents and children and is a fierce supporter of his client’s rights to their children. Sal also handles adoptions, cases involving the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, and is often appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem and Parenting Coordinator by the New Jersey Courts.

Helping clients from throughout New Jersey, Sal practices primarily in Morris, Sussex, Essex, Somerset, Union and Bergen Counties but has also practiced as far south as Monmouth, Ocean and Salem Counties and as far north as Passaic County.

Outside the courtroom, Sal has volunteered his time to the Morris County Battered Women Legal Advocacy Program, where he consulted with victims of domestic abuse on a pro bono basis. He has also volunteered his time to present educational programs on behalf of the Women’s Center at the County College of Morris, Randolph, New Jersey.

Sal was awarded his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law and is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and United States District Court for the State of New Jersey.

Sal is a Member of the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as the Morris County Bar Association. He has been named a New Jersey Super Lawyer every year since 2005 to the present. He is a former member and Sergeant at Arms of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and also served as a barrister to the NJ Inn of the Court, North Jersey section. Additionally, Sal was trained at the American Bar Association Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute in Houston, Texas for two consecutive years.
