Samantha Shaw

Samantha Shaw is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Real Estate and Hospitality practice. She has significant experience in the Middle East Region as a transactional real estate lawyer and is a solicitor admitted in New South Wales, Australia. She regularly acts on the acquisition and disposal of large scale commercial and industrial properties, musataha and ground lease developments, as well as advising on joint venture arrangements for real estate developments. Her experience also extends to advising on master community and mixed-use developments as well as hotel management agreements across the region. She acts for a range of clients advising master developers, government organisations, sovereign wealth funds, hotel owners and private companies and has a deep understanding of the region having practiced in Dubai for over 7 years.

Experience

Real Estate, Structuring, and Development Experience

• Acting for UAE based sovereign wealth fund on several disposal of vacant land and built assets commercial / hotel in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.°

• Advising a JV partner on its joint venture arrangement with a UAE based master developer to acquire and develop two commercial towers in Abu Dhabi.°

• Acting for a Bahraini investor on its acquisition and leaseback of a number of industrial facilities located in Dubai Investments Parks and Jebel Ali Freezone.°

• Acting for a private corporation on its acquisition of land in Abu Dhabi for the development of a data centre.°

Hospitality: Hotels and Residences Experience

• Acting for a Dubai master developer on its appointment of an operator to manage and operate a retail and hospitality complex in its master development.°

• Acting for master developers for the development of a variety of assets including hotels and gyms on a build, own, operate and transfer basis.°
