Samuel Fife

Sam Fife brings a balanced, real-world perspective to criminal defense because he has worked on both sides of the courtroom. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2018 and started his career with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. There, he prosecuted a broad mix of cases, including misdemeanors, felonies, homicides, and juvenile delinquency matters, experience that taught him what prosecutors prioritize and how they try to prove a case. In 2021, Sam made the move into criminal defense, motivated by a desire to help people make meaningful changes in their lives. He has since represented clients throughout Indiana, handling many types of criminal charges and building professional relationships with prosecutors in counties across the state. Sam also takes particular pride in his expungement work, having helped hundreds of clients reduce the impact of past mistakes and step into new opportunities with a clean slate. After a short stint expanding his skills in civil litigation, Sam joined Banks & Brower, confident he had found a firm that shares his client-first values. Sam was born and raised in Fort Wayne, graduated from Indiana University with a history degree in three years, and enjoys golf, fitness, sports, and family time.
