Atty. Samuel Joseph Arena

Sam practices in all areas of commercial real estate law, including the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, and development of retail, restaurant, office, multi-family and mixed-use projects. He has extensive experience in the petroleum and convenience store industry and represents national and regional convenience store developers, operators and fuel suppliers. Sam has also served as lead counsel on a wide variety of complex business transactions, including asset and stock purchase transactions, the purchase and sale of dental practices and other closely-held businesses, franchising and franchise operations, and the formation of new businesses and joint ventures.

Sam was twice named an Indiana “Super Lawyer” Rising Star and most recently was selected by his peers for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America,”®, 2013.

Prior to joining Adams Howell, Sam provided development legal counsel for Simon Property Group, the country’s largest real estate investment trust. While at Simon Property Group, Sam served as lead counsel with respect to the redevelopment of regional and super-regional shopping centers and represented the company in the areas of franchise operations and department store, big box and restaurant leasing. Prior to joining Simon Property Group, Sam was partner at Wooden & McLaughlin LLP, an Indianapolis-based business law firm.
