Biography

Sarah Lemon is a New York and New Jersey litigation attorney who has a wide range of experience in real estate and commercial litigation. She primarily focuses her practice on managing the prosecution and defense of consumer finance matters, with an emphasis on financial services litigation. She represents banks, lenders, loan servicers, and other financial institutions in matters related to lending practices, loan origination, mortgage securitization, loan servicing, debt collection practices, and other consumer finance-related matters. Sarah’s practice encompasses all aspects of litigation, from the pleading stage through judgment, or resolution by settlement. She is well-versed in a multitude of regulatory issues, including those related to the Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act (FAPA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulations, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). She also has robust experience in handling litigation related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), capital markets, and title claim litigation. Sarah has routinely handled court appearances and oral arguments in New York and New Jersey courts throughout her legal career. She also has considerable appellate experience, having written briefs and orally argued dozens of appeals in the judicial departments of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division.

Sarah Lemon also focuses her practice on federal administrative agency hearings and appeals, where she has represented the mining and insurance industries. She litigates cases under the Black Lung Benefits Act (BLBA) before the Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges, and Benefits Review Board.
