Sarah Frederick, Esq.: Attorney with Frederick Law Offices, PLLC

Biography

Sarah A. Frederick is the founder and managing attorney of Frederick Law Offices, PLLC, where she has built a practice dedicated to representing individuals with disabilities and their families. With more than two decades of legal experience, Sarah focuses her practice on Social Security disability, New York State disability retirement, guardianship, special needs planning, and related matters. Sarah began her legal career as a staff attorney and guardianship coordinator for a community-based nonprofit organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working directly with individuals and families navigating complicated benefit, legal, and support systems shaped both her area of practice and her approach to representing clients. In 2015, Sarah founded Frederick Law Offices to provide experienced disability-focused representation in an environment where clients feel informed, respected, and comfortable asking questions. The firm represents clients throughout Western New York and across New York State, including through virtual hearings and consultations. Sarah represents individuals seeking Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits at all stages of the administrative process and in federal court appeals. Her practice also includes New York State Disability Retirement, Federal Employees Retirement benefits (FERS), Article 17-A and Article 81 guardianships, Supplemental Needs Trusts, and estate and future care planning for individuals with disabilities and their families. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C., and her Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she participated in the Community and Economic Development Clinic. She is admitted to practice in New York State and before the United States District Courts for the Western District of New York and the Western District of Pennsylvania. Sarah is also actively involved in disability advocacy and the legal community. She serves as Chair of the Erie County Bar Association’s Disability Law Committee and is a Sustaining Member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), including participation in advocacy efforts related to the Social Security disability system. She is a past president of Women Lawyers of Western New York and serves as a volunteer panelist on the Surrogate Decision-Making Committee for the New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Sarah regularly presents to attorneys, professionals, families, community organizations, and advocacy groups on Social Security disability, guardianship, disability planning, and related legal issues. At the center of Sarah’s practice is the belief that strong legal representation includes both effective advocacy and clear communication. Many clients come to Frederick Law Offices during uncertain or difficult periods in their lives. Sarah’s goal is to make complicated legal processes understandable, provide straightforward guidance about the options available, and ensure that clients know their concerns are being taken seriously.
