Scott Hamblin Named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers

Scott Hamblin is a shareholder in the law firm of Brydon, Swearengen & England, P.C. located in Jefferson City, Missouri.

For more than two decades, Scott Hamblin has litigated cases in Circuit Courts and United States District Courts throughout Missouri.

Scott regularly practices in the areas of family law, divorce, child custody, paternity, child custody modifications, state and federal criminal defense including drug trafficking, drug possession, firearm offenses, sexual crimes, money laundering, driving while intoxicated, and manslaughter.

As a former assistant prosecuting attorney, Scott has gained substantial trial experience and insight which benefits his clients. As a result of his knowledge and experience, The Missouri Bar Association has invited Scott to lecture and speak to other lawyers at continuing legal education courses on the topics of criminal law and divorce. Scott has authored Chapter 1, Chemical Test Refusal Cases of the Missouri DWI Law and Practice desk book, Second Edition.

Scott Hamblin was recently published by The Missouri Bar in the DWI Law and Practice, Second Edition, for authoring Chapter 1, Chemical Test Refusal Cases. The DWI Law and Practice is a reference guide primarily used by attorneys in representing their clients. The chapter authored by Scott involves the status of Missouri law in situations where deputies, police officers or other law enforcement officers have requested a person submit to a breath test, i.e. breathalyzer, or blood test after having been arrested upon suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The chapter engages in a detailed analysis of Missouri’s implied consent law which requires individuals to submit to a chemical test of their breath or blood after having been arrested for a DWI/DUI or risk the loss of a driver’s license and driving privileges for a minimum of one year.

Divorce & Family Law

Scott Hamblin is well regarding by judges and other lawyers in the area of divorce and family law. Scott has been voted City’s Best Lawyer by Jefferson City Magazine on more than one occasion. He has been recognized Top Attorney in the area of divorce by AVVO. He has received Attorney Client Satisfaction award by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys.
