Biography

Scott Krist is The Krist Law Firm, P.C.’s owner and lead trial lawyer. He is a skilled Houston personal injury lawyer with 25 years of experience. He has won some of the largest recoveries in the state of Texas for his clients, and earned numerous honors and awards recognizing his skill as an attorney.

In 25 years of practice, Scott Krist has handled a broad range of cases involving serious personal injuries and wrongful deaths. He has handled cases involving oil rig injuries, maritime injuries, petrochemical refinery accidents, commercial trucking accidents, defective products, car accidents, and other types of accidents and injuries. Although Scott helps with all types of personal injury cases, he focuses on the highly complex area of maritime and admiralty law. This includes maritime accidents, Jones Act cases, Longshore and Harbor Worker's Compensation Act, oil rig accidents, diving and offshore injuries, and other maritime-related accidents.

Krist has a reputation in Texas for sensitive and skilled handling of cases involving mild, moderate, or severe traumatic brain injuries — and for taking cases other lawyers are unwilling to try. One significant case involving a truck accident was rejected by four lawyers, and the injured man was offered just $10,000 to settle before Krist took the case and eventually won a multi-million dollar award.

Krist values his ability to dig into a tough case and fight for the kind of compensation that can restore someone’s life after a catastrophic accident. “It makes one’s life’s work very worthwhile when you can really make an impact on someone’s life,” he said. “I enjoy being able to take on the role of the underdog, the injured — and to represent them when they would otherwise be unable to face off against these large corporations and fight them on an equal basis.”

As an experienced Houston personal injury lawyer and the owner of The Krist Law Firm, P.C., he has worked to find the best talent to represent the firm’s clients. “We’re very unique here in the quality of our associates,” he said. Krist sets the tone for the firm by approaching each case with empathy, intelligence, commitment, and attention to detail. He also has a strong sense of ethics which he brings to each case handled by The Krist Law Firm.

When not dedicating his time to his law practice, Krist enjoys spending time with his family and has a passion for automobiles and collecting cars.
