Biography

Scott Miller joined PMT in 2019 and is the Managing Partner for the New York City office. Before joining PMT, Scott had been the Chair of the Construction Accident Practice Group and Co-Chair of the General Liability Practice Group at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck. He has been a practicing attorney for over 35 years. Scott has litigated all types of civil matters including Construction /Labor Law, Crane and Rigging accidents, Municipal Liability, Automobile, Dram Shop actions, Products Liability, General Liability and Premises cases. Scott also has expertise in Complex, Multi-party Litigation, and Property Damage cases. He has been involved in over 100 trials and mediations, and has taken many verdicts.

Scott regularly represents construction managers, general contractors, crane companies and property owners regarding construction defect claims, construction accidents, issues of code violations, and building and design-related deficiencies. Scott also represents boards in D&O matters, as well as national and global insurance carriers in insurance coverage disputes.

In addition, Scott has significant experience handling sophisticated transactional work for design professionals, brokers, crane companies and construction contractors, particularly in contract negotiations.

Scott has written articles for the New York Law Journal as well as other industry publications. He has lectured for construction companies and insurance risk associations on the topics of Construction/Labor Law and Worksite Safety. He is a Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP), a qualified Small Claims Arbitrator and a member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association. Scott earned his B.A. from Hofstra University and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
