Biography

Scott manages the firm's Litigation/Bankruptcy Department and has been practicing law for more than thirty (30) years. Scott has extensive experience in debtor/creditor rights cases, collections, bankruptcy, and foreclosure, as well as real estate and title curative litigation. Scott currently represents community, regional, and national financial institutions, with regard to their loan default needs and has obtained favorable results for clients in commercial/consumer loan default disputes, post-sales challenges to foreclosure actions, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court, matters involving relief from the automatic stay, use of cash collateral, plan confirmation and claim objections. He is eligible to practice in all state and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the Federal Fourth Circuit and Supreme Court of the United States. Early in his career Scott also represented individual and business debtors, as well as secured creditors and bankruptcy trustees. As a consequence, Scott brings a balanced perspective and approach to cases. He has presented lectures and seminars for the Maryland State Bar Association Consumer Bankruptcy Section, Montgomery Bar Association, and has edited sections of the Maryland Practice Manual for MICPEL.
