Seth Q. Peritz is dedicated to the practice of criminal defense in
both Virginia and federal courts, accumulating experience since 2016.
His legal journey commenced as a graduate fellow at the Loudoun
County Public Defender’s Office, a role that laid the foundation
for handling a significant caseload and gaining exposure to all
levels of trial courts in Virginia. Prior to co-founding Crowley
Peritz Law with partner Matthew Crowley in 2020, Seth contributed his
legal skills to two distinguished firms, showcasing his commitment to
the field.
Seth's academic
prowess is evident in his undergraduate degree in Political Science
with an emphasis on Public Law from Northern Illinois University in
2013. Following a graduate research fellowship, he pursued legal
studies at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William
and Mary, earning his degree in 2016. Seth's personal and
professional life converged when he met his wife in law school,
prompting a move to Northern Virginia, her home area, where they now
share the joy of raising their beautiful baby girl.
Post-law school
and bar admission, Seth embarked on a fellowship at the Loudoun
County Public Defender’s Office, where he honed his skills and
navigated various trial court scenarios. His journey continued with a
role at a small criminal and immigration law firm, where he managed
traffic and handled a broad spectrum of criminal cases. In 2018, he
joined forces with Matthew Crowley, his future partner, and then
Managing Partner of a criminal defense firm. Rising swiftly to Senior
Attorney, Seth cultivated a robust criminal defense practice.
The pivotal year
of 2020 marked the establishment of Crowley Peritz Law, a venture
that reflects Seth's unwavering dedication to his clients. His legal
repertoire spans a wide array of cases, from simple traffic
infractions and reckless driving to complex criminal matters,
including assault, malicious wounding, strangulation, sexual assault,
and drug-related offenses. Seth's intellectual enthusiasm finds
particular satisfaction in DWI/DUI cases, which he approaches with a
keen legal mind.
Seth's notable
representation of an individual charged in the United States District
Court for the District of Columbia for the events of January 6, 2021,
colloquially known as the "Capitol Riot," brought him into
the media spotlight. His work ethic and availability, evident in
dozens of positive reviews on AVVO and a stream of personal
referrals, underscore not only his professional enjoyment but also
the genuine care he extends to his clients. This commitment is
palpable in his trial work, where Seth consistently strives for
excellence in pursuit of justice.
