Biography

Shawn Byrns is an estate planning and elder law attorney. He focused he practice on trust and estate planning for individuals, families, and businesses in matters ranging from simple will creation to multigenerational succession planning. Shawn received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of Fredonia in 2013 and graduated with his Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School in 2018.

While attending law school, Shawn was the recipient of the Equal Justice Fellowship for his work with the Center for Elder Law and Justice in Buffalo, NY. In 2020, Shawn was recognized as a Buffalo Business First Emerging Attorney and has been named a Rising Star Attorney by “Super Lawyers” for five consecutive years, including recognition by the Upstate New York chapter.

Prior to attending law school, Shawn taught English and Economics in Brisbane, Australia and Rayong, Thailand. Shawn, a Buffalo native, is an active member of the Bar Association of Erie County, the New York State Bar Association, and the Sports Lawyers Association.
