Sheila Durant brings over 30 years of legal experience, marked by a distinguished career in public service and private practice. She began her legal journey as a litigator for the City of Baltimore, successfully representing the city through five mayoral administrations. Sheila then served for 16 years as Senior Counsel to the Housing Authority of Baltimore City, the nation’s fifth-largest housing authority. Her public service also includes roles as a Commissioner with Maryland’s Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and as an Equity Master for the Circuit Court of Wicomico County.

A graduate of Morgan State University and the University of Baltimore School of Law, Sheila’s career reflects a commitment to leadership and innovation. She is actively involved in the American Bar Association, serving on multiple committees, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Real Property Council of the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland. Additionally, she is a Leon Higginbotham Fellow with the American Arbitration Association. Sheila’s diverse background, including early work as a computer programmer, underscores her ability to navigate complex challenges with precision and insight.
