Biography

Shilpini “Shelly” Burris joined Saad & Saad LLP as an attorney in 2025. Shelly handles various real estate and title matters, representing developers and lenders primarily in low-income housing tax credit projects and other affordable housing projects.

Prior to joining Saad & Saad LLP, Shelly served as the managing attorney of the Nashville, Tennessee office of a multi-state real estate and creditors’ rights firm. After several years practicing law in Florida and Tennessee, she made her way back to Columbus to be closer to family.

Shelly graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science. She started her career as a reporter focusing on Ohio politics before transitioning to the legal field, earning her law degree from Capital University in 2006. She is licensed to practice in Florida, Tennessee, Maryland and Ohio.

Shelly lives in Upper Arlington with her husband, kids, dogs and several aquariums of saltwater fish. When her schedule permits, Shelly enjoys reading, camping, hiking and spending time with family and friends. She can most likely be found outdoors taking advantage of the beautiful Columbus weather or watching local sports, including her nephew’s preschool soccer team.
