Biography

Sidney Persley focuses his practice in the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical areas. He advises clients on patent portfolio development, licensing, patent due diligence, strategy, and management. He has experience in patent preparation, prosecution, product clearance, patent validity and invalidity, patent appeals, patent legal opinions, and freedom to operate analysis. Sidney also has experience in IP litigation, foreign patent oppositions, inter partes proceedings, post-grant review proceedings, trademark registrations and cancellation proceedings along with FDA regulatory matters.

Previously, Sidney served as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for a global chemical company. In this role, he led the negotiation and capture of multimillion-dollar strategic business deals and alliances involving licensing, joint ventures, collaborative business arrangements, distribution arrangements, research and product development, and commercial transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, sales, manufacturing, and marketing. He also developed and managed a strategic global IP management plan and managed IP litigation through outside counsel. His experience also includes patent attorney work for a major pharmaceutical company and major oil and gas company
