Biography

Spencer Thal holds an undergraduate degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University in England and earned his law degree from Columbia Law School in New York City. In 1992, he embarked on his legal career by joining the esteemed law firm of Schwerin, Burns, Campbell & French, where he passionately represented multiple labor unions in every facet of labor and employment law.

In December of 1996, Spencer transitioned to the Teamsters Union, taking on the role of in-house Staff Attorney for Local 117. During his tenure, he adeptly navigated numerous arbitrations and lawsuits on behalf of Local 117, consistently achieving favorable outcomes for the union and its members.

In 2015, Spencer Thal founded Vanguard Law, an endeavor dedicated to providing expert legal services to individuals seeking counsel in employment and personal injury cases. His exceptional legal acumen and unwavering commitment to his clients have earned him a "superb" rating (the highest rating of 10) on the Avvo system, a platform developed and respected by legal professionals and consumers alike.

Spencer is an esteemed member of the Washington State Bar Association, where he also served as the Chairman of the Association's Labor and Employment Section.
