Stella K. Mallinak

Mrs. Mallinak is an accomplished attorney with over eight years of experience in the areas of family law, probate, and estate planning. As a Rule 31 Family Mediator, she helps parties reach amicable resolutions outside of court. Known for her ability to navigate complicated legal issues, Mrs. Mallinak supports clients facing challenging circumstances.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2016. During her time in law school, she excelled in the Washington University Children and Family Law Clinic, earning the CALI Excellence Award for her dedication to serving vulnerable populations.

Licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 2016, and in Kentucky and Colorado since 2017 and 2020 respectively, Mrs. Mallinak has built a reputation for handling high-stakes family law matters, including complex divorce cases, high-asset property divisions, and high-conflict child custody disputes. She is committed to providing holistic support for her clients, often collaborating with financial and psychological experts to ensure that their needs are fully addressed.

Mrs. Mallinak graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013 with a double major in English Literature and Psychology. One of her favorite aspects of her practice is legal research and writing, including appellate advocacy. Mrs. Mallinak is a Nashville native, graduating from Franklin Road Academy in 2009 as valedictorian of her class.

An active member of the legal community, Mrs. Mallinak has served in leadership roles such as Co-Chair of the Nashville Bar Association’s Sister Cities Committee and the Lawyers’ Association for Women Networking Committee. She frequently presents at continuing legal education seminars, addressing important topics like the impact of domestic violence on children and legal considerations for LGBT families. Her professional memberships include the Nashville, Williamson County, Kentucky, and Colorado Bar Associations, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers, and the National LGBT Bar Association. Mrs. Mallinak is also dedicated to her pro bono work, volunteering at the Fred Gray Institute for Law, Justice, and Society’s free legal clinic.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Mrs. Mallinak enjoys spending time with her husband, child, and two cats. She is actively involved with Pet Community Center’s Community Cat Program, including their trap-neuter-return (TNR) initiative. She finds fostering feral kittens and preparing them to be adopted into loving homes very rewarding.
