Biography

Mr. Williams is a Director in the Albuquerque office. He attended Arizona State University where he obtained Bachelors and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees. He began practice in 1975 with a mid-sized insurance defense firm in Albuquerque followed by two years in general practice in Silver City, New Mexico. Mr. Williams returned to Albuquerque in 1982 to join Miller Stratvert PA and has practiced continuously at the firm for 36 years. He is the firm’s senior litigation attorney. Mr. Williams’ practice has focused primarily on commercial litigation and defense of civil litigation in the areas of products liability, medical and professional malpractice, business and institutional liability, oil field accident litigation and insurance law. Mr. Williams has also been involved in mediation and arbitrations and has been called on to serve as a speaker and presenter at CLE programs. Mr. Williams has exceptionally broad civil jury trial experience, having tried cases in State District Court in most counties in New Mexico as well as Federal Court in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and Roswell. Mr. Williams has participated in more than 90 civil jury trials, 67 of them as first chair trial counsel, taking the case to verdict. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico and all levels of federal court including the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Williams has been a member by invitation and election of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1989. He is rated AV Preeminent, its highest rating, by Martindale-Hubbell.
