Growing up in Easley, SC, Stephen Suggs saw the incredible impact his father, also a lawyer, made on the community struggling with brown lung. He was inspired by how his father used the law to combat inequities and committed himself to do the same.
Stephen received his Bachelor’s and law degree from the University of South Carolina, where he was elected Vice-President of Student Trial Lawyers. He firmly believes the law should serve everyone in society, not just the rich, strong, and powerful among us. That’s why he built a career fighting for everyday people who are facing one of the most difficult times in their lives.
For nearly 10 years, Stephen worked for a non-profit, Appleseed Legal Justice Center in Columbia, SC, where he was involved in major civil rights litigation. He joined Stewart Law Offices in 2018 and has been improving the lives of his clients ever since. When he isn’t in our Columbia, SC office, Stephen spends his free time cooking and playing basketball with his wife and five children.
