Biography

Stephen brings over 28 years of experience in corporate restructuring, commercial collections, insolvency, bankruptcy, out-of-court workouts, and creditors’ rights. He has represented both debtors and creditors in significant bankruptcy cases. Before establishing Starr & Starr, PLLC, he spent five years as a senior associate in the Corporate Department of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in New York. Prior to that, he worked in the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, also in New York, for four years. Earlier in his career, Stephen practiced with two regional bankruptcy and litigation boutique firms in Los Angeles, California, for five years.

Since founding Starr & Starr, PLLC with his partner, Vildan E. Starr, over 14 years ago, Stephen has represented businesses and individuals in bankruptcy, litigation, commercial collections, and judgment enforcement. He handles matters in New York and New Jersey State, Federal, and Bankruptcy Courts, offering comprehensive legal guidance across various complex financial issues.
