Biography

Steven J. Lewis is a partner in Cooper Levenson’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group, bringing more than 20 years of experience representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters throughout New Jersey.Steven has devoted his practice exclusively to workers’ compensation defense for the past two decades. He represents local and national employers across a wide range of industries and handles all phases of workers’ compensation litigation, from initial claims through trial and resolution.Prior to joining Cooper Levenson, Steven served as a partner at a multidisciplinary law firm with a regional footprint across the Eastern United States, where he focused on workers’ compensation defense on behalf of employer and insurance interests. Earlier in his career, he practiced as an associate at a large regional defense firm within a statewide workers’ compensation defense practice. He also spent seven years as staff counsel for a large national insurance company, representing employers throughout New Jersey in workers’ compensation matters.Steven is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A lifelong New Jersey resident, he lives in Mullica Hill with his wife and daughter.
