Steven M. Prebish

Steven M. Prebish has been with PFS since 1994, joining first as an associate and subsequently being admitted as a partner in 1997. Mr. Prebish is a member of the Corporate, Finance and Securities Law Practice Groups and concentrates his practice primarily in counseling clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, federal and state securities matters, debt and equity offerings, hedge funds and commodity pools, commercial financings (both borrower and lender representation), and other general business matters. Of particular note, Mr. Prebish has acted as lead company counsel in numerous public offerings of stock, represents several real estate firms in connection with equity syndications, has bought and sold numerous businesses through the Bankruptcy Code Section 363 process, and represents a number of hedge funds, commodity pool operators and trading groups. Mr. Prebish's clients span various industries. His clients include, among others, original equipment manufacturers, distributors of office wares and furniture, one of the country's largest hardware cooperatives, specialty packaging distributors, home healthcare providers, food and beverage distributors, private equity firms, commercial banks, and investment advisors.

Mr. Prebish was born in Skokie, Illinois . He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for both his undergraduate degree (B.A., Speech Communications, 1987) and his Juris Doctor (cum laude, 1990). Mr. Prebish was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 1990, as well as the Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Upon graduation from law school, and prior to joining PFS, Mr. Prebish was an associate at D'Ancona & Pflaum (now Seyfarth Shaw LLP) in its corporate/securities practice group. Mr. Prebish is a member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations.
