Steven Skikos, a founding partner at Skikos, Crawford, Skikos &
Joseph LLP, boasts a distinguished career spanning over three decades
as a trial attorney. Since 1990, he has been deeply involved in a
wide array of legal proceedings, from pharmaceutical and medical
device cases to employment law disputes in both state and federal
courts. Steve honed his trial skills during his tenure at the United
States Attorney’s Office in San Francisco, where he prosecuted
criminal cases and gained invaluable courtroom experience.
Since 1996, Steve
has focused on complex pharmaceutical drug and medical device
litigation, earning him numerous court-appointed lead and liaison
counsel roles in California Judicial Counsel Coordinated Proceedings
(JCCP) and federal Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) cases. His
strategic leadership and negotiation prowess have been instrumental
in securing settlements exceeding $4 billion for tens of thousands of
plaintiffs.
Steve has played
pivotal roles in several high-profile litigations, including serving
as Plaintiff’s Co-Liaison Counsel in the National Prescription
Opiate case, Plaintiff’s Co-Liaison Counsel in the California North
Bay Fire Cases, and Co-Lead Counsel in the DePuy ASR Hip Implant
Products Liability Litigation, among others.
Before
co-founding Skikos, Crawford, Skikos & Joseph LLP, Steve served
as the managing partner of the San Francisco office at Lopez, Hodes,
Restaino, Milman & Skikos. He earned his law degree from Hastings
College of Law in 1990, where he distinguished himself as the
executive publications editor of the Hastings International and
Comparative Law Review.
Steve is not only
recognized for his legal acumen, but also for his contributions to
legal academia and professional organizations. He has authored
published works on mass tort aggregate settlements and co-authored
tributes to esteemed legal figures. Steve is an active member of
various bar associations and legal societies, including the State Bar
of California, San Francisco Bar Association, and the National Trial
Lawyers. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for
Complex Litigation & Mass Claims at Emory Law School,
demonstrating his commitment to advancing legal education and
practice.
