Biography

Susan Harman-Scott has been engaged in the practice of law in North Carolina since 1986. Her areas of practice include elder law, family law, estate planning and administration, guardianship and general civil litigation including personal injury, wrongful death, contract matters and real property disputes. Susan is a certified arbitrator; is a certified NCDRC Family Financial Mediator; and is certified by the NCDRC to mediate before the Clerk.

From negotiations to crisis management, this firm is skilled at providing excellent client service, comprehensive client counseling, and advocacy to achieve timely client solutions. Her interrelated areas of practice areas enable her to provide a comprehensive array of counseling, including matters involving retirement, blended families, disability, illness, addiction issues, Medicaid and Special Assistance planning, adoption, divorce, custody, property, debt, and all other subjects relating to marriage. This firm is dedicated to strong advocacy, compassion, support and obtaining the best possible results for our clients.

Ms. Harman-Scott is a native Alabaman who grew up in Davidson County, NC. A graduate of Lexington Senior High School in Lexington, NC, she received a B.A. and an M.F.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Greensboro, NC. She subsequently earned her Juris Doctor at Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, NC. She moved to the Outer Banks in 1986 and resides in Nags Head, with family in Lexington, NC and Fuquay-Varina, NC.
